Marias Mexican Restaurant in Platte City

Service and food were muy bien (very good.) We have eaten here several times before when in the area and enjoyed the consistency of food and service. We usually are here after the lunch crowd, but while the lunch menu is available which is a great time to go.

We ate there about 3:30 . It was not busy. The waitress was nice, with prompt service. We really enjoyed the Tex-Mex menu selection and the food was very good. Reasonably priced. We would recommend this restaurant to others.

The food was good and the restaurant fairly clean, but the service was slow.

Great food in Platte City! Been numerous times and never had a bad experience. A couple more times and it will be 5 stars!

Thick cigarette smoke flows readily from the bar area. One of the two servers was very kind, the other was not at all. Our table dismissed her and she did not return. Food was out quickly, however the taste was pretty poor. I’ve had worse, but not frequently. If you love to eat and smoke, and can’t taste your food anyhow, then this is the place for you.

Busy on the night we went. Chips still got to the table immediately. The waitor Daniel was phenomenal. We did not have to ask once for refills om drinks, he brought a refill of chips. We ordered the chicken chimichanga and the Hawaiian fajitas. The food was as phenomenal as the wait staff. A place that makes it worth going out and spending money on good food.

The food was pretty good, the service however could be better. Many of the other reviews here are pretty accurate on that to expect.

Food was great, service was awesome, only negative thing was my girls fajitas wasn't sizzling, but everyone's around us who ordered them were, but overall great experience.

Overall it was a pleasant experience. the service was above par. The refried beans were a little runny. But everything else was very good. And yes, we will be back.

Food was good, not the best I've ever had, but still good. Service was very good though. I ordered Ribeye with shrimp and it was thin and just a bit over cooked. The salsa was delicious and I always love warm chips.

Our flight was cancelled so our airline put us up in a hotel within walking distance to this place! Friendly service and great food.

I've been here before and had a much more amazing dining experience than we did today on Memorial Day 2018. Waitress said the restaurant was understaffed which led to a 25 minute wait for our food. Seafood fajitas were marginal, little to no seasoning added which left them bland. The salsa and margaritas were great though!

Very friendly staff. The wait time on the food was OK. The rice and beans were good. I was not a fan of the salsa, but it was OK. I would eat there again.

Our server was amazing. He was friendly and really helpful. He didnt even mind that we were sharing a meal which got him a better tip :) this is a clean restaraunt with a cherry atmosphere. The prices are reasonable and the food is great.

Review has changed. The kitchen screwed up and packed everything to go. Then when their mistake was caught they just pushed everything into plates and sent out a lovely frozen dinner. Since the beans were cold it weighs like cement. At least when we have the majority of our dinners for lunch tomorrow we can Microwave it. Their kitchen could not do that for us. We WERE regulars not anymore. Time to find a food Mexican restaurant in the northland. What a waste of 3 dinners and 70.00.

Not very good at all. Over priced for what we got.husband couldn't even eat the chili Delano that they served him, tested likr it had been fried in burnt old grease.

Amazing! great service. Large menú. Many options for kids and vegans. Also beer specials. The food is very tasty. My favorite is the enchilada's. They have 2 smoke area and outdoor tables. Also have a bar. They are family friendly.

It was a very nice restaurant with amazing food

An easy walk from the hotel so it seemed like the perfect choice after a long day of driving and it was just that! The restaurant is clean, the staff friendly and knowledgeable. The food was excellent, the beer cold and their margaritas 🍸🍸 are some of the best I ever had. I highly recommend this Mexican restaurant.

Authentic Mexican style restaurant. Their lunch specials are the best!! Ask for some fried jalapeños on the side. It’s little spicy but you will enjoy it with the food. If you are a Lemonade lover, their lemonade is pretty good.

We come like family with one kid. They food was great, even I feel salsa not that good but other then that it taste good. I order combination fujitas for two but they come very big. I think it would be perfect for 3. I will come back this place again.

Not a very good experience. Hostess was nice. Chips were stale, salsa was overly hot for an average person and our waiter spoke no English! The food was so so but the taco shells seemed stale and a little rubbery. Have eaten here before and had a totally opposite experience. Hopefully just an off day.

Smoking in bar took over dining area, the taco salad was really bad like all watery. The Fajitas looked ok. won’t be back

Smell of smoke hits you as soon as you walk in the door. Food was ok but kind of bland. Draft did Equis was $4 for a 12oz draft. Good chips and salsa. Nice staff.

Quality food and generous portion sizes. You're likely to takesome home so go ahead and leave room for dessert ;)

Food was delicious. Had Marie's burrito lunch special. Burrito, rice, beans, chips and salsa which was so good.

I like the food. The salsa is very simple but it goes very well with the great corn flavor of the chips. Huge variety of drinks and a nice selection of food at good prices. I didn't taste anything that was spicy, but there were three hot sauces to add heat to your dishes. I don't blame the restaurant for the lack of spice; they have to accommodate the palates of local customers.

The place smells like an ashtray. No insight on the food because it stinks like a pile of cancer. Go to El Maguey instead if you want great food at a great price.

Usually a 5 but tonight my order was not how I asked and there was hardly any cheese and I didn't get the extra cheese that is supposed to come with the botanas platter. Sunday night is not a very good night for take out from here it is usually much better

I love the stuffed shrimp and the Chmi's and the salsa and the guac. Hey its good food and take the family. You might meet someone you know because they know its a good place to relax and eat good tasting food.

I was in town for a wedding, and this was next to the hotel.Traveling with my sister and brother-in-law; we decided to pregame the wedding like good Midwesterners, and we walked right in and sat at the bar.My sister and I are both bartenders and appreciate when we get good service. Our bartender was handling a mostly-full bar and doing drinks for the tables. She was chatty and outgoing even when she was 'in the weeds'. We went back twice after our first visit and felt right at home.

This place is pretty good! Not bad food but iffy service. The building itself is pretty dated and not well maintained. If I had the choice I would rather go to El Maguey to be honest.
